Ski touring in
Schladming-Dachstein
Freeriding & Ski Touring
in a Winter Paradise
Silent winter forests and glistening hillsides – ski touring is an extraordinary way to explore this snow-covered mountain world. In addition to routes across open terrain, there are also variants that are right next to the ski pistes.
Guidelines
and Safety Check
Ski touring is all about:
Safety First
- plan your ski tour carefully and get all the information you need
- check current avalanche threat levels as well as weather and snow conditions
- make sure you have the right equipment: avalanche transceiver, phone, shovel, probe, and first aid kit
- bring the right gear: plenty of food and water, a change of clothes in case needed, helmet, and airbag system
- respect all trail and avalanche closures, follow signs and route markers
- respect wildlife protection zones and keep as much distance as possible from feeding areas
Ski touring on
our local mountain
Set out
straight from the hotel
Starting from the hotel, you can set out on a ski tour up our own famous World Championship mountain: the official ski touring route on the Planai leads from the lift mid-station via the Lärchkogel – mostly through forest – all the way to the summit cross of the Planai .
The ski tour on the Krahbergzinken is in open terrain and rewards you with magnificent views of the Schladming Tauern, Ennstal, and the Dachstein range.
Important: On both tours, you must pay close attention to snow conditions away from the actual ski pistes!
