Ski touring at the Planai and in Schladming-Dachstein

During your winter holiday at 4-star Hotel Schröckerhof, you enjoy the special pleasure of ski-in/ski-out at the Planai. In addition, a ski tour to the surrounding mountains is also possible: ski for half a day and then enjoy the snow-covered mountain world while ski touring on groomed routes or in open terrain. Walking uphill through quiet winter forests and over glistening clearings and slopes - always with the snow-covered mountains and their majestic peaks in view - and then enjoy the well-earned descent... How about it?
Before you set off: rules of behaviour and safety check
- plan your ski tour carefully, be well informed
- check thecurrent avalanche warning levels, weather as well as snow conditions
- proper equipment: avalanche transceiver, mobile phone, shovel, avalanche probe, first aid kit,
sufficient food and drink, possibly a change of clothing, helmet and airbag system - follow path and avalanche barriers, guidance systems and information boards
- observe wildlife rest areas, avoid feeding areas as far as possible
Ski tours at the Planai
You can start a ski tour to the World Cup mountain in the surroundings of the hotel: the official ski touring trail up the Planai leads from the middle station via the Lärchkogel - mostly through the forest - up to the Planai summit cross.
The ski tour to the Krahbergzinken is in open terrain and is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Schladminger Tauern, the Enns Valley and the Dachstein mountains.
It is essential to pay attention to the snow conditions away from the pistes on both tours!
Ski tours to Hochwurzen
The starting point for ski tours to Hochwurzen is approx. 10 km from the hotel and offers its own ascent track away from the "normal" piste. Along the signposted tour, there are a total of 5 huts for that special stop-off.
Attention: due to piste preparations, there is a different route during the day and in the evening!
