The town rights of Schladming were first chronicled back in the year 1322. It looks back on a once rich mining tradition, primarily silver, copper and lead.
Today,
those mines have long since shut down. But instead, Schladming was, for the second time, the
host city of the Alpine Ski World Championships (1982 & 2013) as well as of the Special Olympics World Wintergames (2017).
Visit the thriving
downtown area with its numerous shops, cafes and restaurants!
The Dachstein massif with its glacier is the emblem of the Schladming-Dachstein region and is readily visible from the Hotel Schröckerhof.
As a sightseeing destination, it has long since made a name for itself around the world. In summer, you are able to use the Dachstein panoramic cable car 1 x per week (from 2 nights stay) with the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard for free.
Venture a glance from the "Sky Walk" viewing platform down into the abyss below your feet, or perhaps visit the Ice Palace.
Prove your courage on the Hängebrücke and the "Stair to Nothing" or hover on the roof of the panoramic gondola, up to the glacier.
The Ramsau am Dachstein region, which is located only
15 minutes from the World Championship town of Schladming, is
situated on a high plateau. It is located on a high plateau, extends over an alpine area and the mountain massif of the Dachstein glacier and is known for the annual Ramsau Spring Festival of Horses among horsefriends.
In winter, here you will find unique cross-country trails both
for pros and for more casual skiers.
In summer, Ramsau draws
mountaineers and climbers as it does laid-back holidaymakers wanting to enjoy
extended strolls out on the high plateau. The Erlebnisberg Rittisberg offers action for young and old, the Ramsau Beach offers bathing fun for everyone.
